Looking for a way to reinforce NCLEX-RN® pass rates in the accelerated cohort, Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, implemented UWorld in the fall semester of 2019.
Maria Grandinetti, Ph.D., RN, BSBA, CNE, initially assigned students to complete 50 questions per week, using the 90-day QBank. That number would later increase based on student performance and self-assessment scores.
Students were immediately impressed with the NCLEX-style QBank, with one student writing:
“I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Wilkes nursing providing UWorld to me. I am sure I passed the NCLEX because of having this! UWorld was the best and only product that helped me get ready to take the NCLEX.”
But for the administration, the usefulness of the Faculty Portal immediately stood out.
Teachers and administrators utilize the Faculty Portal to track both individual and cohort progress, noting that, for them, “the most useful feature was the ability to view the time [students] spent on testing and remediation/review.”
The decision to adopt UWorld paid immediate dividends. In the fall of 2019, the very first accelerated cohort that was assigned weekly UWorld questions had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam!
