Welcome to 2022, educators. It’s a new year, a new semester, and a new opportunity to prepare students for a lifetime of rewarding clinical practice. Though the nursing industry continues to face challenges in the midst of this pandemic, I’m sure you are as excited as I am to prepare the next generation of nurses to overcome adversity and provide superior patient care.

The new year brings an exciting announcement from my team here at UWorld. With the Next Generation NCLEX exam on the horizon, we have been working diligently to update our QBanks to prepare students for the new item types. And we’ve done it!

UWorld’s Next Generation case studies are now live in the NCLEX-RN QBank and assignable through the Learning Platform.

Beginning today, you can view, assign, and track student performance for these new item types that are designed to help students integrate clinical judgment into nursing practice.

The Next Generation NCLEX exam will include standalone questions and case studies to better reflect a variety of situations that require both critical thinking and clinical judgment. Each of our Next Generation case studies includes six questions presented in sequential order, and each of these questions incorporates one of the six components of the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model. Of course, we have also continued to provide our high-quality UWorld rationales and Educational Objectives for each question.

Our Next Generation items for the NCLEX-PN QBank are scheduled to go live this spring.

We’re excited about these changes, and we look forward to your feedback as you assign these new questions to students in your spring, summer, and fall cohorts. As always, we are committed to offering you, your program, and your students the absolute best learning tools for both NCLEX and clinical success.
